Hey Heroes,
As I mentioned during last week's session, I am attending (and presenting at) the Editors Canada conference this weekend, so we won't be having our Weekly Wins session this morning. Please post your wins in the Hero Hub!
A few first impressions:
- Editors are discouraged. Many have also seen their workloads and income disrupted by clients using AI.
- There's a special synergy to draw from by just being in the room. Being surrounded by fellow word nerds is a lot of fun. I've seen a few quirky t-shirts that I'd love to start wearing!
- If nothing changes, nothing changes. There are clients who are still looking for quality output, but our research and marketing needs to shift.
Regarding next week (May 29), yesterday we received an email from IRCC that they've scheduled my husband's citizenship ceremony for Friday morning. He just started a long research trip in Mexico, so he's scrambling to book a flight to get back in time. I don't like to cancel two weeks in a row, so would any of you be open or available to meet Thursday night (May 28) instead? Hit reply and let me know.
