The kids are alright.
One of my twin daughters flies home tonight after a semester in Italy.
We've loved every excited report on the gelato, the Colosseum, the new friends from all over the world. Things she could never learn from an app.
She was already bilingual. Now she's adding Italian. Honing what I call her superpower.
When people find out my kids are all studying creative arts (and two of them are majoring in languages) they almost always ask the same question.
"Aren't you worried about AI? What if they can't find work?"
I smile. Genuinely.
Because this week alone, I've earned by translating official documents, interpreting in court and at the U.S. consulate, proofreading clinical trial questionnaires, translating episode summaries for a Mexican drama, and editing a dialogue script.
I'm not worried about my kids. If they want to make money with languages, they just need to pick a service. I can teach them how to monetize it.
Can I teach you too?
I'm running a free live workshop this Saturday called Language Skills to Pay the Bills and I have something coming for anyone who wants Q3 to look completely different from the first half of this year.
More on that tomorrow.
For now:
SAVE MY SPOT! SATURDAY, JUNE 27 AT 10 AM EASTERN
To your success,
Catharine
P.S. The workshop is free. The thing I'm announcing tomorrow is not, but the early bird price is only available to people on this list. Just saying.đ
