Hey, Hero!
I hope your week is starting off well. I'll be popping into your inbox on Mondays to share what I'm working on, some productivity tips and encouragement.
What I'm working on:
· Official documents: I have two birth certificates and a marriage certificate confirmed, and I'll send an estimate today for another marriage certificate. Pro tip: Always instruct individual clients to pay up front; it reduces the email back-and-forth.
· Interpretation: Medical terminology prep. My client is a government organization that provides training to seasonal farm workers. For the past couple of years, I've interpreted for their driver's ed training and testing, and next week we'll take them through two full days of an intermediate first-aid course.
· Audiovisual: I'll translate 15 songs this week for a major streaming service, mostly corridos, with some ballads to mix it up! Pro tip: Watching the music video instead of just listening to the audio provides a deeper understanding of the lyrics. E.g., if the artist is singing about how much they miss their love since they've gone away, the video makes it clear if they broke up or if they're dead, lol. That definitely affects word choice!
· The welcome party for the first cohort of Bilingual Heroes is on May 8, 2025! You've still got time to join the Beta Group! Sign up here.
